Be an ACADEMIC digital citizen! IMPORTANT!
The goal of all WHS teachers is to impact student achievement.
Therefore, we are paying close attention to those students who are struggling to maintain a passing grades.
In addition to insisting that students struggling academically participate in a weekly academic boost session, we are going to begin to take an additional step and limit your personal, recreational iPad apps and access to the app store.
Please be reminded that when students picked up their iPads at the beginning of the year,  Mr. MacGuinness informed all students that it was very important to be able to manage online time.
Each student must become a responsible digital citizen who is able to enjoy personal apps BUT  maintain passing grades.
This will be especially beneficial as you go on to technical training or college classes that are expensive!
We will be eliminating a privilege that has become a source of academic distraction for some students.
Use this current nine weeks to eliminate all failing grades!
When this current nine weeks (the second nine weeks of our year) ends January 24, all students with a failing grade will lose their personal apps and access to the app store for a minimum of nine weeks.

FAQs and answers:

Will my personal apps be restored as soon as my failing grade(s) come up?
NO…your personal apps will be restored only at the nine weeks – not immediately when you improve them if that is before the nine weeks is up. MINIMUM  nine week swipe.

Will my personal stuff be restored or lost forever?
If you back up your personal stuff to the cloud, it will be restored when your failing grades are raised and your personal apps are restored at the new nine weeks.

Will the decision to swipe depend on my semester grade or nine week grade?
Nine week grade NOT semester grade.
Second nine week grade January 24, then third nine week March 27 .

How will I do my classes if my iPad is swiped?
Your educational apps needed for class(es) will be left on your iPad.
